Openings & Opportunities
Research Scientist in Machine Learning and Medical ImagingApplications are invited for a National Cancer Institute funded postdoctoral Research Scientist position focusing on Machine Learning and Medical Image Processing at the Emory department of Biomedical Informatics. The position will focus on tackling the research questions around interpretability of deep learning models, particularly as one tries to deploy and adopt them in the clinical domain. Applicants should be highly motivated and creative, show an exceptional research track record, and hold a Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Computer Science, Statistics, or related fields. Some key requirements:
- Applicants should have a solid background in cross-disciplinary application of signal and image processing and machine learning.
- Experience in biomedical image classification, and modern machine learning techniques for pattern recognition (including deep learning) are highly desirable. Here biomedical imaging includes radiology (CT or MR) and digital pathology.
- This project will have a strong emphasis on deployment at-scale and translational aspects of signal processing and machine learning techniques. Therefore, applicants must possess familiarity with modern programming languages like Python, C++ or Java, and demonstrate a willingness to learn tools for ‘big data’ analytics.
Postdoctoral position in Machine Learning and Critical Care / Clinical InformaticsApplications are invited for a postdoctoral research position focusing on Machine Learning and Intensive Care Unit (ICU) predictive analytics. Applicants must show an exceptional research track record, and hold a Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Statistics, or related fields. Applicants should have a solid background in cross-disciplinary application of signal processing, machine learning to neurophysiological signals and systems (familiarity with deep learning and reinforcement learning is a plus!). To apply, please use the 'contact us' link, and briefly describe your research interests and motivation for working in this domain.
